About the blog(ger)

Behind this blog is me, Pekka Pehkonen, 20-something Finnish outdoor enthusiast and a former scout. I found packrafting in the fall 2010 while searching for new adrenaline-induced hobbies. While reading about canyoneering I spotted a picture of a packraft. One thing led to another and oops: after a few years I found myself to be multilingual packrafting pioneer, blogger and trip organizer.

The point of this blog is to share packrafting ideas combined with Scandinavian hiking habits. I'll most probably focus on finding suitable rafting areas, writing gear reviews and other tips. One of the biggest challenges is going to be maintaining the same level of dry black humor I tend to use in the Finnish version on this blog. Most of the time I can't keep up with myself so don't wonder why these English posts are noticeably shorter than the Finnish equivalents. =)
